Compal cares for the disadvantaged and pledges donations to the HCI Foundation

The Covid-19 pandemic continues to affect the global economy. In 2020, the Hsu Chau-Ing Social Welfare and Charity Foundation(HCI Foundation) paid visits to schools across Taiwan and offered their concern to the schoolchildren of disadvantaged families. From these visits, the foundation discovered that work of these parents have been affected by Covid-19, resulting in their incomes dropping sharply, making it even more difficult to provide sufficient food and clothing for the whole family. With the understanding that the number of poor families and schoolchildren in need of assistance in 2021 continues to increase, Compal’s CSR Committee agreed to a proposal at their February meeting for a NT$2 million donation to HCI Foundation. It was submitted to the chairman, and was approved by the Compal Board of Directors on March 26. Compal made the donation in the hope of helping more socially disadvantaged families to tide over their current difficulties.

Compal Electronics has paid attention to the educational gap in rural areas for years, promoting the use of technology and high-quality education to encourage students to learn and develop their potential. Compal’s colleagues are also encouraged to participate in various activities to help the disadvantaged children. In 2020, the amount of funding its colleagues donated and invested in charity activities totaled NT 4,208,113. As such, Compal sincerely thanks all of the colleagues for sharing their love and care, and in 2021, we shall all strive to work hand in hand to make everyone’s lives better.
