Compal Green Sustainability & External Advocacy

The increase in consciousness of global environmental protection has made green production the most important part in maintaining environmental resources and industrial competitiveness. Compal continued to comply with its green production mode and promoted energy saving, water saving, and waste reducing operation model.

Green Organizations
In 2010, we formed the Green Committee led by senior managers graded Vice President and above whose mission is to set strategies and goals and monitor the progress of our efforts. In addition, a Green Sustainability Office (GSO) was created under the Committee to oversee the execution of environmental protection actions. The GSO regularly reports the progress and outcome of green projects to senior management.

Environmental Sustainability Policy
  • Environmental protection and regulatorycompliance
  • Proactive implementation of various environmentalperformances
  • Gradual disposal and replacement of equipment of high energy and water consumption
  • Development of renewable energy and automatic production equipment
  • R&D of environmentally friendly products
  • Focus on enterprise environmental sustainabilityeducation
  • Creation of the healthy and green life of employees

Greenhouse Gas Emission Reduction Goal

We recalibrated and set 2019 as the benchmark year for carbon emission, so that it is closer to carbon reduction benchmark. It is tiered into short, medium- and long-term reduction goals. For each year 4.2% of reduction shall be achieved from its previous year, and 50% reduction as the mid-term goal in 2030. Gradually achieve the goal of 100% renewable energy use in global operating sites by 2050, and implement the goal of "net zero carbon emissions".

We have joined SBTi, one of international initiatives, and expect to reach the target of carbon reduction by 2024.

Environment Sustainability Management
Compal is committed to reducing its "cradle to grave" life cycle products and environmental damage. It also focuses on improving energy efficiency, reducing waste of natural resources, reducing the discharge of waste water, exhaust gas and waste material to make the environment sustainable and continuous in reproduction. In view of the rapid changes in the industrial pattern, the extent of energy and water conservation is based on electricity and water consumption amount, and the short-term target is set to reduce the intensity of electricity and water consumption and waste generation by 1% every year, for water consumption intensity, enhance energy conservation of product, and develop environmental-friendly products.
