Premier Su paid visit to Compal: Government and enterprises should work so that the world cannot fare well without Taiwan

Premier Su of the Executive Yuan visited the Pingzhen factory of Compal Electronics in Taoyuan today on the (11st) , and he affirmed and thanked Compal for its efforts and contributions to Taiwan. In fact, computers manufactured by Compal are among the best in the world, so that Taiwan shares the pride as well. Besides, Premier Su also described the importance of Taiwan's status as "Silicon Shield", for Taiwan does, indeed, have the strength to play some critical role in the world. If the government and enterprises join hand in hand with good efforts, they can certain help enhance such a role-play.


Premier Su pointed out that Compal was established in 1973; right now, its turnover is not only considerable, notebooks produced by it are also among the best in the world. Besides, Compal also has a strong R&D team, so that Taiwan shares much honor as well. In addition, Premier Su had used the term "Silicon Shield" to describe the importance of Taiwan. As a matter of fact, the reasons that Taiwan can play some critical role in the world and be perceived a key play on global arena for we have made progresses in all aspects as Taiwan has such strength in this area. As a result, the world cannot really fare well without Taiwan; otherwise, it will be in short of digital, mobile devices, and other related talents. As viewed, the world must embrace talents from Taiwan in all aspects, whereas Taiwan has become ever more important because of you.


Premier Su said that he had come alongside with the administrative team to visit and observe. On the corporate part, they are competing with the world every minute, so that the government must work harder, keep making progress, invest more resources in research and development, and be as vigorous as a private enterprise to constantly developing and improving to meet the expectations of people. In fact, he has always adopted such a spirit to encourage himself. Upon seeing Compal's slogan (slogan) as "surpass", he believes the goal for everyone is to attempt their best for innovation so that no one can duplicate and then Compal can always be running at the forefront unsurpassed.

Premier Su indicated that extraordinary achievements by Compal in the trade have not only brought great glory to Taiwan, but also massive amount of contributions in terms of tax money as well as employment opportunities, which are most admirable. On behalf of the government, he expressed greatest affirmation and gratitude to the leadership and colleagues of Compal for their efforts. Also, Premier Su also rendered much praise to chairman Hsu for he has not only made much success in his trade, his dedication to charity is most commendable. Of his efforts, the groups and organizations he puts up and led from the trade have worked to bring much conviction and recognition from all walks of life. 


Premier Su also mentioned that products such as smart medical care and long-distance have become most necessary in our rapidly aging community as Taiwan, and they have brought about huge contributions to the world. The Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) attaches great importance to these tasks, and the government will also provide support to them to create more suitable products needed for the elderly and health of general public. As such, these products are conducive for the businesses so that they can become successful as well as render good deeds.


Premier Su said that today he had especially brought his team to pay tribute and gratitude to Compal, and he hopes that the government and corporate world can work hand in hand so as to make Taiwan better. Thus, there will always be a critical role for us as we play our part in the world, and such a role will become more and more important.
