As the Covid-19 epidemic has gradually slowed down in the past three years, human life around the world has gradually returned to normal. However, Compal also realizes that the challenges we face are not only the epidemic, but also the extreme climate impacts brought about by climate change and global warming. An issue that cannot be ignored. When meeting the challenges of sustainable development, companies must demonstrate innovative thinking, a spirit of harmony and co-prosperity, go beyond breakthroughs, and work hand in hand with all stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, employees, and communities.

The government recently announced Taiwan’s 2050 Net-Zero Emission Pathway and Climate Change Response Act, which provides opportunities and challenges for businesses. Compal, as a representative company that has grown from a small enterprise with a hundred people 40 years ago to a company with a revenue of one trillion yuan today, is actively thinking about the path to sustainable development in the future. While pursuing corporate growth, harmony and co-prosperity with the environment where we live is also an important goal of Compal and must be treated with caution. We look forward to working with other businesses to move towards the goal of sustainable living.

Compal has set clear mid- and long-term goals for greenhouse gas reduction, including net zero by 2050, 100% use of renewable energy, and a 50% reduction in carbon emissions in 2030 compared with the base year. In recent years, it has been selected as one of the "Taiwan's Top 100 Global "Model Enterprise for Sustainability" and a number of sustainability index constituent stocks, which are external recognition of Compal's continued investment in sustainability work. In the process of implementing the sustainability project, we also have a clearer understanding of how to integrate sustainability goals with the company's operational performance, and bring sustainability practices into everyone's daily work, so that every employee can automatically and spontaneously work at any time, anywhere. Practicing sustainability is the change we want to see.

In addition, Compal actively participates in international environmental initiatives, including RBA (Responsible Business Alliance) and CDP (International Carbon Disclosure Project), both of which are important members and actively contribute. We will also share our promotion experience with supply chain manufacturers to jointly enhance the international visibility of Taiwanese companies and drive upstream and downstream manufacturers in the supply chain to cooperate in reducing carbon emissions through green procurement, green design, and green production.
