First COMPAL Joyful Reading Area is opened at Kaohsiung Public Library - Maitreya Branch

COMPAL sponsored the establishment of "Joyful Reading Network Area" at Kaohsiung Public Library - Maitou Branch. On June 14 (Wed), COMPAL Associate General Manager Mr. Ting Chang-Jie attended the opening ceremony with Kaohsiung Public Library Director Mr. Lin Yi-cheng, Associate Director Mr. Lin Guan-yu, Nan'an Elementary School Principal Ms. Lee An-shi and students from Nan'an Elementary School. The students also brought a wonderful bamboo storytelling performance, which filled the library with joyful and literature elements.
This is the first COMPAL Joyful Reading Area in Kaohsiung, which it is also part of the ESG reading programs between COMPAL and Kaohsiung Public Library in 2023. Mr. Ting Chang-Jie, VP of COMPAL, said, "The books in the Joyous Reading Area are carefully selected by experts, which makes this donation even more meaningful.” Reading education is extremely important in families which should be easily accessible to the public.
As summer is approaching, we hope that children in neighbouring communities of Maitou Branch will come to the library to enjoy reading. With the Kaohsiung City Library Circulation Service, we will able to extend the service to the elementary schools near Maitou Branch to fulfill the reading need of students. They will be able to access a more variety of books and explore their interest to promote future growth and development.
