COMPAL “Beach cleaning on the Yuan-Tan River – the Enterprises Doing Beach Cleaning Together

On September 17 International Beach Clean-up Day, 87 colleagues and their family members attended the Beach Clean-up Activity in Yuan-Tan River. We joined hands with more than 500 people from 6 enterprises, including Lite-on Technology, Compal, Advantech, Sam Sung, Na Ya Plastic and Technology Cooperation to clean the marine litters along the North coast of Yuan-tan River, Xialiao and Dingliao Beaches and return Wanli and Jinshan to its original form.

Compal values the importance of sustainable development and focused on marine litters-related issues since 2015. To raise the awareness of environmental protection among our colleagues, we have held activities such as beach clean-up, crab protection, Eco tour for many years. Apart from promoting in the Compal, we also promote the relevant ideas to our suppliers. This time, we promote the beach clean-up activity with the enterprises who have the same willing like us.

Wilma Wei, the Senior VP of Compal, said “Beach Clean-up Together activity can expand the social influence and integrate the power of value chain. It’s grateful to gather a group of people to work hard for the sustainability. Little pay out gives great power.” Because the place we go for beach clean-up is a flat area, many colleagues participate in the activity with their children. They all behaved well and don’t go close to the weave and help to find the tiny trashes near the plants on the beach.

Other than the beach clean-up, the colleagues and their family members walked along from Wanli, Xialiao, Dingliao to Shuiwei in Jinshan and enjoy the protection achievement of Yuan-tan wetland. Wetlands are the vital link between water and land. With the ocean and forest, they are three ecosystems in the global. Hopefully, we can have more children to care and devote themselves to the sustainability of wetlands in future.
