Internal Communication Channels
Compal respects the fundamental freedoms and right of free expression of its employees. Diverse and open channels of communication are employed to build a proactive and constructive labor-management relationship. We actively listen and take action in response to employee suggestions. Compal establishes its policies to not only comply with laws and regulations, but to also address the interests of its employees. Compal's 2024 global employee communication channels are summarized in the table below. We received a total of 45,207 suggestions from employees. All submitted grievances are handled with confidentiality from the outset, with prompt responses to employees and tracking of resolution outcomes.

Cases are sent to subordinate units for processing within 24 hours of being received then assigned to the dedicated unit for action. At the same time, we have also formulated the“Management Procedure Document for Protecting Whistleblowers and Putting an End to Fighting Against Protection” to protect complaints from the threat of retaliation in accordance with the procedure. Please refer to the Employee Code of Conduct, which regulates the whistle-blowing process and the protection of whistleblowers from retaliation.

Labor Relations and Collective Bargaining
Freedom of Association
With regards to the freedom of association, pursuant to the Ministry of Labor “Regulations for Implementing Labor-Management Meeting” and our company “Procedure Governing Employees’ Freedom of Association and Right to Collective Bargaining“, our employees are entitled to freedom of association, participation in collective bargaining and peaceful negotiations and the right to not take part in such activities. There are no unions in Taiwan but “Labor-Management Meetings” are held in accordance with government regulations. Unions have been established in China, Vietnam, and Brazil. Union and Labor-Management Conferences
According to the “Procedure Governing Employees’ Freedom of Association and Rights to Collective Bargaining”, some plants have set up labor negotiation units and scheduling negotiation conferences, which are attended by representatives of labor and management to discuss labor disputes, employee welfare, collective contracts and other related matters. Some plants adopt regular audit and review, and e-mail to discuss matters, so there is no regular physical meeting.
