Starting from Intelligent Medication Delivery in the Emergency Room, Integrating Physical AI and Digital Twins to Drive a New Smart Hospital Model
COMPAL Electronics (COMPAL) has partnered with Chung Shan Medical University and Chung Shan Medical University Hospital to jointly promote the “POLYMEDX Smart Healthcare Operations Platform” initiative. The first phase of the collaboration will focus on intelligent medication delivery and medical logistics in emergency departments, with future expansion into centralized pharmacy logistics management, hospital-wide smart logistics coordination, and intelligent operational decision-making, creating a next-generation AI-driven smart hospital operations model.
This collaboration begins with the high-frequency and time-sensitive medication and logistics demands of emergency departments. Through the POLYMEDX platform, the project integrates Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMR), intelligent task dispatching and tracking, AI orchestration, and digital management systems to establish a closed-loop workflow for intelligent medication delivery between emergency rooms and hospital pharmacies. The system is expected to reduce repetitive manual operations while improving logistics efficiency within hospitals.

This approach allows hospitals to validate operational benefits and deployment models in advance, reducing implementation risks while improving overall operational efficiency and extending smart management capabilities across the entire hospital.
Chung Shan Medical University Hospital noted that the collaboration with COMPAL will not only improve emergency and pharmaceutical logistics efficiency, but also help accumulate smart healthcare operational data and AI management experience, laying a critical foundation for future smart hospital development and centralized operations management.
