COMPAL Family Day ~ Wetland Volunteers to Guandu Nature Park

2024 / 12/ 21

COMPAL Family Day 2024 to Guandu Nature Park, a one-day environmental education and volunteer service activity, was postponed again and again due to the typhoon, and was successfully completed by 59 employees and their families in the morning of December 21st.
In order to encourage colleagues to practice carbon reduction, the gathering place was set at Exit No. 1 of Guandu MRT Station. Meanwhile, colleagues and their family members brought their own tableware, cups or bottles, and walked to the Guandu Nature Park for check-in after the gathering.

In the morning of this activity, two professional lecturers were invited to introduce the birds that can be seen in this season to the adults and children. While walking along the park's trails, we listened with our ears and followed the birds resting at the end of the trees or flying in groups that the lecturers pointed out to us. The children's eyesight was superb, and they quickly found the birds' traces, while some of them even spotted the squirrels' flashes in the forest.

A crafting class was arranged for our colleagues to take a break in the room to enjoy the lunch box lunch. Everyone was able to create their own coasters. It was warm to see colleagues and family members working together to create coasters.

In the afternoon wetland volunteer service, none of the participants had ever worn a marsh coat before. After the demonstration and explanation by the instructor, the children were the happiest ones, they felt as light as swallows, and did not feel trapped in the swamp and could not pull their feet out of the swamp.
COMPAL partners and their family members quickly cleaned up the area they were responsible for today, and together they protected the home of many wetland wildlife in Guandu Nature Park.
COMPAL emphasizes on carbon reduction ecology and protects blue carbon ecosystem plants - mangroves, seagrasses, herbs in salt marshes and algae.
Together, we protect the ecology of wetlands, maintain biodiversity, and work together for sustainable ecological coexistence.
