2024 / 11/ 15

COMPAL Group has been actively investing in smart healthcare and healthcare business. Today (14) morning, COMPAL held the groundbreaking ceremony for the medical long term care facility building in Ruifang District, New Taipei City. Mr. Hou Youyi, Mayor of New Taipei City, came to congratulate the project in person, and together with Mr. Rock Hsu, President of COMPAL Group, Mr. Ray Chen, Chairman of COMPAL Computer, Mr. Eric Peng, Chairman of COMPAL Ruey-Fang Healthcare Asset Development, as well as Mr. C.C. Hsiao, President of C.C.C. Hsiao Healthcare System, and Mr. Yu Kannaru, President of Nippon Genkai Group, the ground-breaking ceremony was conducted to bless the construction of the new building. The new construction is expected to be completed and opened in 2028 with an investment of nearly NT$1 billion.

Northeast Point is an area in Taiwan with a relatively serious aging problem, but the medical area currently relies on only one hospital, the Ruifang Mining Hospital, to provide residents with 24-hour emergency medical services. The Ruifang Mining Hospital has been in operation since 1982, and its building and equipment are old, so the establishment of the Ruifang Medical Long-Term Care Facility Complex has become a matter of urgency. New Taipei City Mayor Hou Youyi said in his speech, “Since the signing of the contract in August 2022, the Ruifang Medical Long-Term Care Facility Building has passed the environmental impact assessment in February this year under the joint efforts of the city government, the Department of Health, and COMPAL's team, as well as the high expectations of the local people and representatives of all levels, and is now about to enter the opening stage and enter a new milestone, which will make the healthcare resources in New Taipei City more complete.

COMPAL has long been committed to corporate social responsibility, giving back to the land that nourishes us and realizing our vision of creating a happy society through business, and has made a promise in this remote area of Northeast Point. In the future, the operation of the new hospital will effectively complement the medical resources in Northeast Point, and the professional long-term care organization will provide important support for the aging needs of the senior community in the area.

COMPAL has been deeply engaged in Taiwan in recent years and has been actively promoting its diversified businesses, especially in the area of smart healthcare. COMPAL has already cooperated with a number of healthcare institutions in Taiwan on a number of projects and has established strategic partnerships with them. Eric Peng, Chairman of COMPAL Shui Fong Health Asset Development, said, “Shui Fong Healthcare Long Term Care Facility Building is a very important base for COMPAL to develop smart healthcare, telemedicine, precision healthcare and preventive healthcare in the future. C.C.C. Hsiao Medical System and Japan Genki Group are both experienced partners, and we will work together to enhance the medical energy in the remote areas of Taiwan in the future. “After the opening of the new hospital, it is expected that medical AI and AIoT technologies will be introduced to integrate smart outpatient clinics, smart wards, smart operating rooms, medical image management, and technology-based care programs, creating an innovative medical application and care environment through the deep integration of information and communications technology and healthcare services.

The planning of this project includes the application of a 2,659 square meter development site with a new 10-storey above ground and 1-storey below ground medical long term care building. The first to third floors will house the hospital, the fourth floor will house the day care center and office space, and the fifth floor and above will house the residential long term care facility and plant rooms, with a parking garage on the first basement level. The entrance halls of the hospital and the long-term care facilities will be set up independently, and the first floor will be equipped with registration, outpatient services, pharmacy and 24-hour emergency services. According to the current planning, there will be 136 beds for long term care and 36 beds for acute general medical care, and in order to take into account the parking needs of the local residents, an intelligent three-dimensional parking tower will be constructed to address the needs of the residents and the local economy. According to the progress of the investment contract signed in 2002, the project is actively progressing into the construction period after the finalization of the EIA in February, 024, and is expected to officially start operation in 2008 with a BOT+BTO contract term of 50 years.
