COMAPL is proud to sponsor the 2024 Taiwan Xuan Yin Ya Ji series of events. On April 17, the "New Taiwan Piano Music Presentation" was held at the National Concert Hall, focusing on the theme **"Listening - Taiwan Imagery III."** This concert aims to describe Taiwan through music and to hear the thoughts of different generations, allowing the audience to understand Taiwan through sound.

 

Under the leadership of Professor Chen Mao-Hsuan, this concert brought together senior music veterans, mid-generation, and new-generation musicians to complete the project. A total of nine composers from different generations, including Chen Mao-Hsuan, Lin Jin-Yao, Hsiao Ching-Yu, Yen Pei-Wen, Hu Yu-Chun, Wang Ying-Chieh, Kao Chen-Kang, and Chiu Yen-Ning, presented their piano compositions. The composers utilized two techniques, "Sound Imagery" and "Music Narration," to guide the audience through Taiwan’s natural landscapes, traditional temples and festivals, folklore, and legends, while also experiencing the busy urban rhythm and diverse culture. By combining Eastern and Western musical sounds and creative techniques, the compositions convey the "Taiwan imagery" relevant to their respective generations.

The concert on April 17 featured performances by active stage artists Ye Meng-Ru, Liao Jiao-Han, Lin Wei-Chi, Guo Xiang-Hao, Wang Da-Wei, and Hu Zhi-Wei. Through the exploration of the interpretation of the works by composers and performers, they aimed to convey the abstract essence of the compositions to the audience, hoping to resonate with them regarding the imagery of Taiwan.

COMPAL also looks forward to connecting the unique cultural and natural ecological memories of Taiwan through the innovative works of local musicians, allowing the development of Taiwanese arts and culture to be showcased in diverse forms, ensuring that culture and history continue to be passed down through moving music across generations.
