In order to fulfill its commitment to achieve the global 1.5°C temperature control goal, COMPAL (SEHK: 2324) today hosted the Net Zero Declaration and Sustainability Cloud Kickoff Meeting to officially launch the COMPAL Sustainability Cloud digital platform, which provides real-time and accurate data support on 
carbon emissions and renewable energy usage for management. The event was hosted by COMPAL's Chief Sustainability Officer, Mr. Sheng-Hua Peng, Executive Vice President, and senior executives from COMPAL's subsidiaries attended the event to witness COMPAL's significant milestones on the road to net-zero.
Mr. Eric Peng, Executive Vice President of Sustainability, pointed out in his speech, “Carbon reduction and net-zero is not only a corporate responsibility, but also an important commitment to the future. COMPAL will join hands with our subsidiaries and fully utilize the resources of the Group to effectively meet the multiple challenges and work together towards the goal of net zero emission in 2050 by sharing the international trend, carbon reduction process and green power procurement experience.”
Mr. Peng further emphasized that COMPAL is fully committed to the carbon reduction target and the planning of the Net Zero Roadmap covers all consolidated financial statement subsidiaries. Due to the Group's global operations, diverse business programs, and multiple time zones, the process of collecting basic information is extremely challenging. For this reason, the COMPAL Sustainability Cloud digital platform developed independently by the Information Technology Department, which is equipped with multi-language and AI verification functions, is specifically designed to handle the huge and complex carbon emission data within and outside the Group, ensuring the real-time and accurate data, and providing strong support for the management decisions of the various locations around the world.
Today, COMPAL's management team held a ceremony to launch the Sustainability Cloud, symbolizing the Group's determination to join hands in promoting climate transformation. During the event, COMPAL specially invited carbon reduction experts in the industry to give a special speech to share their carbon reduction strategies and practical experience, bringing more innovative ideas to the Group. COMPAL's Senior Vice President of Investment Planning and Management Office, Mr. Wilma Wei, said, “Such diversified information on sustainability really requires the group to work together and confirm the direction in order to go farther together.
Mr. Andy Lee, Senior Vice President, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, said, “COMPAL understands that it is difficult to cope with all the challenges of climate change with its own strengths and existing technologies.
