On September 24, COMPAL ’ ESG team and our green sustainability partners visited outstanding “water resources” net-zero and decarbonization sites in northern Taiwan. COMPAL specially invited our corporate sustainability partners to join this environmental education activity, organized by the Institute for Information Industry and the Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers’ Association, so that we can encourage one another and keep moving toward our net-zero carbon goals together.
Corporate partners joining this water-resources visit included Kinpo Electronics, AcBel Technology, Henghao Technology, Sunonwealth Electric, Winbond Electronics, Shin Zu Shing(SZS), ChipMOS Technology, as well as the Institute for Institute for Information Industry, the Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers’ Association (TEEMA), and Chang Feng Green Energy, all taking part in this environmental education program.
We would like to thank AUO for opening its Longtan site, arranging an internal tour, and introducing both its native-species conservation efforts and the “Water Resources Education Center – Green Ark,” formed from three decommissioned shipping containers and showcasing its circular, zero-wastewater system in operation.

We also visited the key water-resources control area of Shihmen Reservoir. Our special thanks go to the speakers who shared their practical net-zero achievements and hands-on experience:
· The former plant director of Shihmen Reservoir, Mr. Tseng, personally introduced hydropower generation at the reservoir and shared how, after ten years of implementing the “Green Power First” initiative, local communities can now enjoy cleaner air and bluer skies.
· Mr. Chung Wen-Chieh, CEO of Chang Feng Green Energy, gave a detailed introduction to green power and renewable energy certificates.
· Section Chief Wu from the Water Resources Agency presented on “small hydropower generation” and its future development trends, thoroughly explaining the energy-saving strategies of the “Shizhen Interconnecting Pipeline Small Hydropower Plant” and leading participants on a site tour of its daily hydropower operations.
This collaboration between the Northern Region Water Resources office and Taipower is a successful example of cross-sector cooperation. According to actual statistics, the electricity generated is sufficient to supply around 4,571 households.
Industry, government, academia, and research are coming together to value ♻️ the circular economy, zero-wastewater protection of water resources, biodiversity conservation, and effective water-area governance, while improving energy efficiency, creating a green-energy environment, and reducing carbon emissions. Together, we face the urgent challenges of global climate change, seeking practical and workable solutions and striving toward the 2050 net-zero target.
📣 Net zero for sustainability – we’re in this together!
