In 2024, Compal cooperated with the Department of Special Education of National Kaohsiung Normal University (NKNU) for the first time, and NKNU set up the “KNU Senior Special Education Student Science Team” to organize the “Hermit Crab AR Hands-on Camp Activity” for the school children.
Under the promotion and guidance of Prof. Ming-Fu Tsai from the Department of Career Services of the KNU Teacher's Office, a counselor training course was conducted in March, and team discussions on the curriculum and preparation of teaching materials were held before the team left for the schools in order to achieve the goal of integrative education and to increase the students' ability to conduct scientific investigations.

This year, the Senior Teacher Science Team has been sent to Pingtung County Neishi Elementary School, Saijia Elementary School, Kaohsiung City Bananhua Tribal Elementary School and Laonong Elementary School, where they had fun communicating and learning with the children who are participating in the special education students' science team in four schools. After absorbing the knowledge in the rich curriculum, the team members immediately did hands-on science in secondary school, experiencing the application of science and utilizing the power of teamwork and mutual assistance.
Teachers who accompanied the AR camp team also indicated that the children's concentration had increased.
Through the hermit crab AR program, we combined the use of science to convey the importance of a sustainable environment and ecology to all the participants of the science camp.
