This Earth Day

At Compal, we believe that sustainability is not just a responsibility, it drives our innovation.

This Earth Day, we’re reminded that meaningful change starts not only with how we manufacture, but also with how we design. On our journey toward net-zero and beyond, we’re rethinking both the process and the purpose—transforming how we build, and more importantly, what we build. Our focus is clear: building products that last longer and waste less.

We’ve developed over 30 next-generation sustainable materials, many of which are already being integrated into global consumer tech. Some examples include tea waste turned into vegan leather and oyster shells transformed into durable casings. We also use recycled wood fibers, plastics, aluminum and more. These innovations aren’t just experiments. They’re part of our long-term material strategy: to build beautiful, functional, and future-ready electronics while cutting down on virgin resource extraction.   Take our collaboration with Framework, for example, the world’s first fully modular, repairable laptop. This wasn’t just a design challenge; it was a proving ground for our circular economy mindset. To build a device that could be repaired, reused, and even reborn, we had to rethink how to ensure:
- Uniform material behavior across replaceable parts
- End-of-life recyclability
- Longevity as a core design principle

Through projects like these, we’re embedding ESG into every level of our business, from product development to supply chain decisions, from materials science to consumer experience.     This Earth Day, we reaffirm our belief: Designing for #regeneration is how we future-proof our industry and our planet.
