Compal Electronics Wins Prestigious iF Design Award 2018

Taipei, Taiwan (March 15, 2018) – Compal Electronics is pleased to announce the final results for the prestigious iF DESIGN AWARD 2018 held annually in Hamburg, Germany. With a record breaking number of entries received this year, out of 6,402 entries received from 2,955 participants from 54 countries, the Compal team was awarded a total of 11 distinguished honors, with one special entry recognized in particular – Lumi (Projector PC), a revolutionary projectile PC receiving the most distinguished iF gold award.

 

The 11 winning designs are: In the discipline of Product Design, outstanding awards were given to Lumi, Baby Monster, Cold Iron, Compact NP, CyberStar Studio, O-Pen, Sound Bar 180, Surfer and uPOS. In the discipline of Service Design / UX, an outstanding award was given to Bacchus. And lastly, an outstanding award was given to Comfort Care under the discipline of Professional Concept.

 

With the final results in from this year’s wins, Compal’s Experience Design Team has won a combined total of 54 iF design awards for 7 consecutive years, since 2011.

 

“This is the first time Compal and its Experience Design Team won an iF gold award, the highest honor of its kind in the product design category,” says Tony Bonadero, Chief Marketing Officer & SVP Global PC Business at Compal Electronics. “This is testament to the team’s creative excellence and outstanding design”.

 

All winners have been celebrated at the official awards ceremony, the iF Design Award Night in Munich, Germany on March 9, 2018. Compal Electronics attended as a winner of the iF gold star award, one of the only two coveted stars awarded in Taiwan this year.

 

The iF DESIGN AWARD is currently in its 65th year of competition.
