Compal Electronics, Inc. (“Compal”) (TAIEX: 2324) today announced 1H16 consolidated financial results. Consolidated revenue was NT$349,585 million, -12% YoY, impacted by the softer consumer demands. Consolidated operating profit was NT$5,192 million, -8% YoY. Given Company’s continued efforts on operational efficiency and product mix enhancement, operating margin rate raised to 1.49%, from 1.42% a year ago. Non-operating items were also improved YoY due to higher investment incomes and reduced FX losses. Therefore, consolidated net profit was NT$3,803 million, +8% YoY. Net profit attributed to the parent company was NT$3,338 million. Earnings per share (EPS) was NT$0.77 in 1H16.
Consolidated revenue in 2Q16 was NT$172,935 million, -2% QoQ and -13% YoY. Consolidated operating profit was NT$2,416 million, -13% QoQ but flat YoY. With the improvement in non-operating items, consolidated net profit was NT$2,057 million, +18% QoQ and +38% YoY. Net profit contributed to the parent company was NT$1,737 million. EPS was NT$0.40 in 2Q16.
